19th Annual Visual Effects Society Awards - Virtual
2021 took the Visual Effects Society Awards virtual. This event awarded the 24 competitive categories and 2 special honorees. It aired on a custom designed platform on April 6, 2021.
The stage was a virtual background stage and on location shoots that had people “located” in locations around the world. Presenters included directors Pete Doctor, Zach Synder, actors Danny Devito, Sasha Baron Cohen, Cate Blanchett, Chris Sullivan and more. Honorees were Sir Peter Jackson, Oscar winning director, and 3 time Oscar VFX genius Rob Legato.
